It really is amazing how many uses one product can have and everybody knows you can use vinegar on things other than just food preparation. Surface Master have made a list of the best uses we could find although we have not tried them all out yet they all sound like great tips and are well worth sharing for others to try out.

 

  • Flowers – Add about two tablespoons of vinegar plus three tablespoons of sugar with your vase of flowers to keep them fresh for longer.
  • Ants – Spray vinegar around door frames, window frames and under appliances to help deter ants.
  • Cats – Spray vinegar on an area to discourage cats from sleeping on and scratching areas you don’t want them.
  • Appetite – Sprinkle a little vinegar on your food to take the edge off your appetite.
  • Bee sting – For bee or jellyfish stings dot the irritated area with vinegar and relieve itching.
  • Mosquito’s – Relieve itching by using a cotton ball moistened with vinegar on the effected area.
  • Hiccups – Take 1 tablespoon full and swallow to stop the hiccups.
  • Dry Skin – Add 2 tablespoons to bath water to relieve dry and itchy skin.
  • Sore throat – Gargle a teaspoon of vinegar mixed with water to relieve sore throat.
  • Upset Tummy –  Add two teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar in a cup of water and drink.
  • Lint – Half a cup of vinegar in your rinse cycle will remove the lint from your clothes
  • Deodorant stains – Deodorant stains may be removed from clothing by rubbing vinegar into the area before washing.
  • Unclog Steam Iron – Pour  equal amounts of vinegar and water into the iron’s water chamber. Turn to steam and leave the iron on for 5 minutes in an upright position.  Any loose particles should come out when you empty the water.
  • Coffee Maker – Replace water reservoir with vinegar and run it through the cycle. Be sure to run water through afterwards to flush out the remaining vinegar.
  • Fridge Cleaning – Use a sponge cloth and mix equal parts water and vinegar and put into a sprayer.
  • Microwave Cleaning –  In a safe bowl put about a cup of water with a quarter cup of vinegar and bring to the boil this will loosen all muck on the walls for cleaning.
  • Fluffy Rice – Add a teaspoon of vinegar to the water when it is boiling to make fluffier rice.
  • Boiled Eggs – When boiling eggs adding a teaspoon of vinegar to the water will help prevent eggs from cracking.
  • Germs – One part vinegar to one part water in a spray bottle used as a spray and wipe will help kill germs on bathroom fixtures.
